These and more topics have all been discussed in workshops and presentations. About 80 people (experienced and new, young and older, from the city and the country side) took part. Successful blockade of Monsanto in The Netherlands
On May 17 2010 about 40 persons of the action group 'Roundup Monsanto' blocked both gates of the Monsanto seed company in Bergschenhoek (near Rotterdam). 'Roundup Monsanto' wants Monsanto to back out of the seed market, and demand an end to patents on seeds and living organisms. Monsanto and other agro-chemical multinationals are lobbying the Dutch government and the EU for legislative changes that would make it easier for large companies to take control of the seed market and food production.[1] The blockade took place at the former De Ruiter Seeds, acquired by Monsanto in 2008, where research laboratories, offices, greenhouses, and a central storage for seeds and seedlings are to be found. [article only available in Dutch. but you can read an article in the Guardian] Al ruim van tevoren had de organisatie van ‘Take the flour back’ (Neem het meel terug) de ontsmetting van een proefveld met gg-tarwe in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, aangekondigd.

Protest in jammed Brussels against Agrofuel corporate proposals
January 31 2008, Brussels - Today, campaigners staged an anti-agrofuel protest in front of the Diamant conference centre in Brussels. Here, the 'European Biofuels Technology Platform' (EBFTP) presented their advise for the EU's research budget and policy on agrofuels to 'stakeholders'. The EBFTP absurdly promotes a target of 25% blending of agrofuels for all transport needs by 2030, in a time where the currently proposed 10% is already highly contested.
